There are lots of resources out there to help you start I would recommend that you find a local guided meditation group to start. These groups will help you understand the meditation process and help with your posture.
I can remember the first time I went to a guided meditation at Manchester’s Buddhist Centre on Turner Street in the Northern Quarter. I didn’t know what to expect but after the hour’s mediation session I came out feeling excited and in touch with my own self/body for the first time in years. I have been practicing Meditation for years now and have benefited in so many ways to the point I completed a course last year to enable me to teach the process of Mindfulness. I tend to go back to the Buddhist Centre now and again usually on a Tuesday evening at the drop in session or alternatively you can book longer courses if that’s something you want to experience more of. There are some great apps out there and the one I recommend a lot is Headspace as these are guided meditations and my clients have thanked me for introducing them to this resource.
